After a few false starts and a couple of challenging years, I am finally ready to query agents with my first completed novel. It is exciting and nerve racking at the same time. The highs when you’re flowing are counterbalanced by the discouragement when things just refuse to click. I could probably fill four large volumes with the writing that didn’t hack it. Even so, I love the process because you are always growing.
When I think of actually succeeding as writer, sometimes I’m as giddy as Homer Simpson watching Krispy Kremes rain from the sky.
I’m planning to use this blog to chart my journey and write about the creative process, everything from writing suggestions to marketing ideas to social media techniques. I hope you find it useful. It’s a brave new world out there. It’s an amazing time to be in the book business, so many pathways to achieve our dreams. I’m curious to see how it will all unfold.
